SanDisk has taken advantage of holding the 2016 edition Photokina, currently holding the side of Cologne, to unveil an impressive SD card, containing not less than 1TB of storage!

Casually, SanDisk has introduced the SD card the most "generous" in the world, at least, at the time these lines are written (it says things up so fast!). Proud of its 1TB, the SDXC card is against that by the prototype stage for now. Understand that no price has yet been announced. And that's good ?

A sacred progress

                            

Impressionnant, c’est bien le premier mot qui vient à l’esprit quand on découvre cette carte mémoire. C’est d’ailleurs d’autant plus ahurissant quand on se remémore que le même SanDisk proposait des cartes de 64 Mo il y a un peu plus de 15 ans de cela, et une carte de 512 Go il y a deux ans de cela. A titre de comparaison, ce modèle de 1 To offre très exactement 16 384 fois plus d’espace disque que la toute première carte SD dévoilée par SanDisk au début des années 2000. C’est dire !

1 TB, but why?

In fact, the main question that we are led to ask face to this card is its usefulness. Who would need to 1TB? No doubt anyone beginning to swear by the 4K and 8K formats, whatever is said relatives of democratization. And that's not to mention the disk space required by the projects filmed 360 or virtual reality. SanDisk is obviously not fallen on the head by concocting its latest memory card, it simply asserts once again its position as a forerunner in decidedly very active area. Rest we would still be curious about the transfer rates offered by the card 1 TB ...
